What Bucks County Economic Slowdown?

I read the doom and gloom that’s being shoved down our throats by the Dinosaur Media and find myself almost being sucked in.  Things are tough out there, for sure, but they can’t be all that bordering-on-depression tough in Bucks County if things like this are going on.

The last four years, developer Mike Meister has spent drafting ideas on how to develop his Lower Southampton property. Two development plans were shut down by township officials and residents. But he didn’t give up. He came back with a third plan that suits his wallet and the community.

On Tuesday, a mixed used plan convinced the board of supervisors.

Meister, whose has developed at least one other parcel in the township, will built 84 town homes and some commercial buildings on his Bustleton Pike and County Line Road.

$4 gas and I still can’t negotiate all the traffic here in Lower Bucks, even on weekends. Daily stories about home prices and sales “collapsing,” yet a developer is begging to build 84 more.

One has to wonder why, in every election year with a Republican in the White House, every stat reported is “the worst xxxx since the Great Depression.”  Obviously, there’s still growth out there.

Heck, I can’t even get a table at any of the dozen or so restaurants around the Oxford Valley Mall from Wed-Sunday.

Macaroni Grill, Red Lobster, TGIF, Olive Garden…. they all have hour long waiting lines.

Like they say, the only cure to homelessness and economic hard times is to elect a Democrat, because the economy will magically improve at midnight on Jan. 21, 2XXX — the minute after any Democratic president gets sworn into office.
