In South Carolina, a Roman Catholic priest has put his parishioners on the honor system for Communion, telling them in a letter that if they voted for the radical pro-abortionist Barack Obama they should refrain from accepting the sacrament until they’ve done Penance.

“Abortion kills an unborn, developing human life. It is always gravely evil, and so are the evasions employed to justify it. Catholics who make excuses for it - whether they’re famous or not - fool only themselves and abuse the fidelity of those Catholics who do sincerely seek to follow the Gospel and live their Catholic faith.” - Denver Archbishop Charles Chaput

Patrick Murphy, like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Vice Presidential Candidate Joe Biden, proclaims himself to be Catholic when it’s electorally advantageous.  But, like the Speaker and the Senator, Murphy seems to have made the cold calculation that it’s also electorally advantageous to occasionally buck the church’s central teachings. Although it is unfortunately marred by some questionable image insertion and music, to hear a portion of Barack Obama’s chilling Illinois State Senate argument in his own cold, detached voice against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA) because having two doctors around is just too “burdensome” is instructive.

Providing medical care to a human being is really just designed to be a burden on the original decision to abort the baby?  In what sick world, where we let people die so someone else doesn’t have to feel bad, does this tool live?  And we all know how difficult it is to find two whole doctors in a hospital.

Note to future YouTube audio posters: Inserting an image of a baby with outstretched arms surrounded by butterflies is generally not considered hard-hitting political commentary.

No Pro-Abort For McCain VP

Trying to tamp down days of hand-wringing from their conservative base, Republican National Committee officials have confirmed that John McCain will not be picking a pro-abortion Vice Presidential running mate such as former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge.

Several sources at the RNC told FOX News that in the last 36 hours, senior McCain advisers and aides have told RNC officials that McCain “got the message” last week that choosing a running mate who supports abortion rights would not be helpful.

GOP pundits had been vocal in urging the presumptive presidential nominee not to pick a running mate who supports abortion rights. Ridge, the first homeland security secretary, was said to be on McCain’s short list, and the only candidate who explicitly supports abortion rights.

Obama Campaign Admits Infanticide Vote Lie

In an interview following his abysmal performance at the this weekend’s Saddleback Civil Forum on Presidency, Barack Obama angrily and defensively stood behind his voting record on Illinois’ Born Alive Infant Protection Act, saying pro-life groups were “lying” about his record.  Transcript and video here.

UPDATE FOR CLARITY: The Obama campaign’s admission that what Obama says in the video is a lie is bolded in the 7th paragraph following the video of Saturday’s interview.

Much media hay is being made surrounding the Democrats’ decision to allow so-called “Pro-Life” Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey to speak in a prime spot at their convention.  There’s only one problem with this widely accepted premise: Senator Casey is not Pro-Life.
