I was not at all enthusiastic about last night’s GOP Convention lineup, but it appears I was incorrect in my assessment.
I don’t know how many people remember that, back in 1996 when MSNBC started, it was billed as a full partnership between Microsoft and NBC News, and that the programming and style of the channel lived up to its billing. Along side of news programs lived computer-focused shows. One of its first programs was called The Site, a show completely focused on computers, technology and the internet which was hosted by blathering sourpuss dimwit Soledad O’Brien and co-hosted by a computer generated virtual host voiced by computer expert Leo Laporte.

Liberal cable commentary channel MSNBC has suspended Senior Political Analyst Mark Halperin after he called failed President Obama “kind of a dick” on this morning’s Morning Joe program.
MSNBC second-string host Lawrence O’Donnell had Condoleezza Rice on his little-watched show to yell 7-year old DNC talking points about the war in Iraq at her while she sat in a chair.
Intellectually outmatched and rhetorically out played, the wooden O’Donnell became her bitch about a third of the way through the 11 minute interview. He never knew what hit him.
Little Larry starts by playing the favorite lefty clip of President Bush talking dismissively about Osama bin Laden. Does O’Donnell understand the concept of Psy Ops, making the enemy and the world think we consider him a nobody?
Does he also forget this interview with Katie Couric, shortly before Obama was sworn in?
COURIC: How important do you think it is, Mr. President-elect, to apprehend Osama bin Laden?
OBAMA: I think that we have to so weaken his infrastructure that, whether he is technically alive or not, he is so pinned down that he cannot function. My preference obviously would be to capture or kill him. But if we have so tightened the noose that he’s in a cave somewhere and can’t even communicate with his operatives then we will meet our goal of protecting America.
Anyway, after that intro it’s even more fun to see him reduced to Jello by Condoleezza Rice.
Matt Schneider at Mediaite wonders why FOX News’ Glenn Beck (2,334,000 viewers Monday at 5PM) is not responding to taunts by MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell (817,000 viewers Monday in Prime Time).

On Monday night’s edition of his little-watched MSNBC show, Rachel Maddow reported a satirical article calling for Sarah Palin to lead an invasion of Egypt as fact. Not only as fact, but as evidence of dangerous wacky right-wing ideas.
Someone run a warm bath, because the tub is going to get a workout this weekend. The last bridge being burned, Keith Olbermann and MSNBC officially ended their eight year relationship tonight. It’s Comcastic!

Daily Beast blogger Howard Kurtz offers a pretty detailed look at the numerous ways bathtub boy Keith Olbermann is reviled by everyone at NBC.
MSNBC has suspended liberal mouth bomber Keith Olbermann indefinitely without pay after it came to light that Olbermann made the maximum allowed political contribution to three Democrat candidates in violation of NBC’s ethics policy.
