Pitching his message to Oregon’s environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to “lead by example” on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.

“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.

US taxpayers are struggling to get by as the massive wasteful spending of the Obama administration prevents the economy from turning around, but Barack and Michelle Obama have decided not to participate in the sacrifice he has asked of the rest of the American people.

They decided to wing themselves off to New York City in a Gulf Stream jet for a ritzy night on the town.

Former publishing bigwig (current web site editor) Tina Brown is either blind or deluded.

It was smart of France’s ravishing first lady, Carla Bruni, to let her husband go to the conference without her. The second Madame Sarkozy was a big wow when she visited London last March, but she’s a shrewd enough PR hand to know she would suffer in comparison to the first and only Mrs. Obama.

There aren’t many ways France compares favorably to the US, but First Ladies is one.

Another difference between the two: Carla Bruni doesn’t want Barack Obama’s kisses.

Stunning Carla Bruni was business-like in her greeting — while her hubby treated the US President’s wife to a hug and Continental double kiss.

The former model gave customary pecks on both cheeks to Michelle Obama and other dignitaries when the couple arrived in France.

But when it came to the dashing US President the beauty kept a noticeable distance.

In an email to Dirty Harry’s Place, the CIO of investment firm Dune Capital has pledged $150,000 for a digital or source copy of the tape showing Barack Obama partying with former Palestine Liberation Organization spokesman Rashid Khalidi and other enemies of Israel as well as toasting the former PLO mouthpiece according to the site.

It is further alleged that domestic terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorhn were in attendance at the event, possibly seated as bookends to Obama and his angry wife Michelle.

Aston Grimaldi II says he is making the offer “as an avid supporter of free speech and a non-biased media.” The call to action follows a $25,000 pledge from Ace of Spades HQ and another $25,000 pledge that Dirty Harry says he is working to verify.

The fourth and most recent excuse from the The Los Angeles Times regarding why they will not release this tape is a promise they made to their source to that effect.

[Grimaldi writes], “It is my opinion that this was a non-restricted banquet and does not fall under several protective source policies used by national media outlets.

In return for the digital or source copy of this material, I will personally and contractually guarantee a reward of a minimum of $150,000.00 USD, payable to the individual or company that submits the aforementioned material.

This offer includes expiration and exclusivity requirements that are currently be[ing] drafted by our attorneys.”

I published a caveat-filled report yesterday on an alleged telephone call by Michelle Obama to news outlet African Press (API) during which API claims Obama made racially incendiary and divisive statements.  Since then, domestic news outlets have published denials by the Obama campaign that the phone call took place pretty much unquestioned.  But African Press International is not backing down from their story.  Instead, they say they have tapes and are consulting with their legal advisors on how to release them.

I read the description of an alleged angry and racially divisive phone call by Michelle Obama to an outfit called African Press International yesterday, but didn’t know what to make of it.

Today, the post is gaining steam and being linked widely across blogs.  One of those is Newsbusters, which investigated API and found that the organization “has been in existence for over two years and has filed over a thousand stories.” API lists their correspondents on its front page, and also lists contact telephone numbers in both Great Britain and Norway.  To me, this gives the organization at least a little credibility.  It’s hard to believe that API would establish a two year physical presence in two countries and then risk it all by making up a story out of whole cloth.

So we’ll take a look at the allegation with a grain of salt.
