Personally, I blame talk radio for taking a 1-year Canadian citizen from Turkey who goes by the entirely Presbyterian name of Yavuz Berke and riling him into such a frenzy that he had to steal a plane and fly it to America.  I’m sure he had only the best of intentions, although I can’t imagine why he would want to come here, as we all know the health care system in Canada is far superior to that of the United States.

Surely he wasn’t trying to perpetrate any Man Caused Disasters, and it would be outrageous to suggest otherwise.

Barack Obama says he’s had no contact with Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich in relation to filling his now vacant Senate seat.  Obama adviser David Axelrod said they talked about it last month, but now says he misspoke.

I guess this article from Illinois’ KHQA also ‘misspoke’ on November 8, when they said that Obama met with Rod Blagojevich right after the election.

QUINCY, IL — Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.

Obama met with Governor Rod Blagojevich earlier this week to discuss it. Illinois law states that the governor chooses that replacement. There’s already been speculation about his selection…from Congressman Jesse Jackson, Junior to Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs Director Tammy Duckworth.

UPDATE: And “Poof” it’s gone.  Seems this “misspeaking” phenomenon is epidemic. There is this curiously written explanation for an article written on November 8 about a meeting on November 5.

The story housed in our website archive was on the morning of November 5, 2008. It suggested that a meeting was scheduled later that day between President Elect Obama and Illinois Governor Blagojevich. KHQA has no knowledge that any meeting ever took place. Governor Blagojevich did appear at a news conference in Chicago on that date.

Last time I checked, November 8 is not later in the day of November 5.

A 14-year old girl in Oak Park, Illinois decided to perform a tolerance experiment before the election. The unsurprising result: Obama supporters, young and old, are very tolerant of other Obama supporters but feel McCain supporters should die.

The Democrat Illinois Attorney General is investigating a $100,000 earmark grant Barack Obama awarded to a former campaign volunteer for a botanical garden that never got built.

[S]tate records obtained by the [Chicago] Sun-Times show $65,000 of the grant money went to the wife of Kenny B. Smith, the Obama 2000 congressional campaign volunteer who heads the Chicago Better Housing Association, which was in charge of the project for the blighted South Side neighborhood.

Smith wrote another $20,000 in grant-related checks to K.D. Contractors, a construction company that his wife, Karen D. Smith, created five months after work on the garden was supposed to have begun, records show. K.D. is no longer in business.

The Truth About Obama’s Chicago District

When Barack Hussein Obama was in the Illinois State Senate, he represented the 13th District.  It’s also the community he “organized” as a so-called “community organizer.” I’ve never been to Chicago, but I understand the 13th District is not a place for the faint of heart.
