Sestak Leads Toomey By 4%

Results of a new survey released by Rasmussen Reports show that Democrat Senate candidate Joe Sestak leads Republican Pat Toomey by 4%; 46% for Sestak to 42% for Toomey.

9% of voters are undecided.

This is hardly surprising news. Sestak has been bombarding the airwaves in Pennsylvania with television advertising for months, while Toomey – who ran to an easy primary win on Tuesday – has not been advertising.  Sestak’s name is out there.

All people know about Sestak is that he is the guy who isn’t Arlen Specter, because that’s all his advertising said.  Once they know he is also the guy who loves Nancy Pelosi, ObamaCare, tax hikes and Cap and Trade, his numbers will fall.

Sestak’s support is up six points from earlier this month and is at its highest level yet measured in the race. Two weeks ago, Sestak and Toomey were in a virtual tie.

It won’t last long.  There’s also this:

Forty-seven percent (47%) of Pennsylvania voters approve of the job President Obama is doing, while 52% disapprove. Those numbers include 27% who strongly approve of the president’s performance and 39% who strongly disapprove.

[...]

Sixty-one percent (61%) of Pennsylvania voters favor repeal of the health care law, which is slightly higher than results found nationwide. Thirty-five percent (35%) oppose repeal of the law. Those numbers include 47% who strongly favor repeal and 25% who strongly oppose it.

This would only be natural considering the amount of money Sestak had to spend on campaign ads for the primary compared to Toomey. From this point on Toomey can concentrate on defining Sestak for what he is: an incumbent liberal big time spender who votes in lock step with the Obama regime. You saw how well those ads linking the occupier of the White House with Specter did for him!
