Roll Call has switched the 2012 race for Pennsylvania’s Eighth Congressional District from “Leans Republican” to “Likely Republican” after the DCCC yanked advertising spending for for its radical fringe candidate Kathy Boockvar.
The next designation on Roll Call’s scale is “Safe,” but this designation is usually used only for unopposed races or seats held in deep red or blue districts by the dominant party.
The DCCC announced yesterday that it was suspending advertising spending for Boockvar’s doomed candidacy to focus on other races. “Focus on other races” means they now have to defend seats they already hold as the result of a nationwide October Republican surge. The seat had previously been tagged by Democrats and their stenographers in the major local media as a prime “Red to Blue” pickup candidate. Guess not.
Boockvar was exposed early-on as a far-left radical, and that was before her law firm’s ties to convicted cop killer and liberal cause célèbre Mumia Abu-Jamal were exposed. In June, Boockvar held a campaign event at a New Hope club that had held a “Deep Throat Contest” just the night before.
Boockvar proved to be so confused about the issues in the race that she asked reporters for policy advice during an interview, like she was asking for a “Phone A Friend” lifeline on Who Wants to Be A Millionaire.

The slime is not sticking. And now Fitz will have to fend off his degree of connection to pedophile priests. When you spit in the wind you spit in your own eye. Boockvar is up by half a million which is remarkable. She is getting endorsements from important entites. However it turns out, money should not be the decider. It should be the best person for the job. That is Boockvar. We need smart woman in the House, not a dirt monger. And you can have the last word.

Dem challenger experiences the good, the bad — and the good again
October 11, 2012|BY SEAN COLLINS WALSH, Daily News Staff Writer
IT’S BEEN AN UP, down and up again week for Kathy Boockvar, the Democrat challenging Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick in the area’s most competitive congressional race.
First, the Bucks County lawyer scored a high-profile endorsement from former governor Ed Rendell. Days later, she learned that the national organization for Democratic House candidates was pulling $1.1 million in planned TV ads that could have boosted her chances. And then her campaign released its quarterly fundraising totals, showing a solid half-million-dollar haul.

The DCCC NEVER pulls money from a challenger who has a chance. This race is over. Better luck next time.
