Reading School Board member William F. Cinfici is standing up against the Board’s donation of space and resources to the Barack Hussein Obama campaign for a town-hall style meeting last April.
At Monday’s board meeting, Cinfici said superintendent Dr. Thomas R. Chapman Jr.’s donation of board resources and space at the Geigle Complex to the Obama campaign is “illegal and unfair to city taxpayers” according to the Reading Eagle. Cinfici considers the decision to waive fees for the use of district property and security staff “an in-kind donation to the campaign from the district,” and he’s not backing down.
After being questioned by Cinfici, [Board President Karen H.] McCree admitted that several uniformed Reading School District security staff members were in attendance, despite Obama having his own security force. She said she did not know how many district security guards were there or if they were paid for their time.
McCree declined to say whether she thought letting Obama use the complex for free was an illegal contribution.
Nearby Wilson High School charged the Hillary Clinton campaign $6,460 for a similar appearance.
