Palin Resigns

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, often rumored to be considering a 2012 White House bid, has announced that she will resign as the state’s governor as of July 26.

There is no information available as to why she is resigning what she plans to do next.  It would be highly unusual to not serve out your term in an elected office and then later decide to run for another, higher office.  Generally, the way it’s done is to get elected to a position – say Senator – and then not do that job at all while you run for President.  It worked for Barack Obama.

I hope it is not a health or family issue.

UPDATE: Video added.

UPDATE: At present, there’s nothing but speculation, and it ranges from Palin quitting because of the horrible treatment her family has received since she came onto the national scene, to gearing up for a 2012 Presidential run, to removing herself entirely from elected office forever.

Here’s a prime example I found of why she would want to take a break from public life. It’s been removed from Huffington Post.  Like it never happened.  But it did.  And it always does.
