Obama Tax Lie Revisited: The Assault On Beverages

“I can make a firm pledge,” [Obama] said in Dover, N.H., on Sept. 12. “Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.”

He repeatedly vowed “you will not see any of your taxes increase one single dime.”

Luckily, no one making under $250,000 drinks beer, soda, wine or hard liquor.  Either that, or Barack Obama is a liar.

stoli-100A current proposal in the Democrat run Senate has taxes on those beverages going up by as much as 233% to pay for the socialized medicine plan that will destroy our health care system.

A tax of 3 cents per 12-ounce [sugary soda] drink would raise about $50 billion over 10 years, according to congressional estimates.

[...]

Under the proposal lawmakers are considering, beer taxes would be increased by 48 cents a six-pack, from the current 33 cents.

Slick, AP.  Instead of saying “increased to 81 cents from the current 33 cents,” they pretty it up by saying “increased by 48 cents from the current 33 cents.”  To be clear, beer tax would go up about 145%.

Wine taxes would rise by 49 cents per bottle, from the current 21 cents.

That’s 233%

And the tax on hard liquor would increase by 40 cents per fifth, from the current $2.14.

I don’t even know what the hell a fifth is.  What is this, 1946?  I’m officially stockpiling Stolichnaya 100 Proof in anticipation, and taking suggestions for a sound long term storage plan where it doesn’t all evaporate right out of the bottle.

Oh, and by the way he’ll also be taxing your health care benefits to pay for socialized medicine.  Once again the people who have their shit together wind up paying for the people who don’t.  But that’s ok, because obviously everyone who has job provided health care coverage makes over $250,000 a year, right?

Lawmakers are looking at an extensive list of spending cuts and tax increases, including a new levy on the value of job-based health insurance. The latter proposal seems to be gaining ground.

Just wait for Waxman-Markey to kick in. Should this pass, all your energy will double. Who does this hurt the most? Working people. It’s an excuse for a world government tax. There is no such thing as a tax to control climate change and is a big scam.

Obama knows it but he’s doing the bidding of his elitist banker UN control freak handlers.

All the new taxes he’s pushing are going to hurt ALL OF US, especially the ones making less than $250K
