As the US Senate rams through a disaster health care reform package that provides federal funding for abortions and steals billions of dollars from America’s senior citizens, Rasmussen Reports’ daily tracking poll shows Barack Obama’s approval index as a record -21% low.
The figure is derived by subtracting the percentage of likely voters who strongly disapprove of the failed President’s performance (46%) from the percentage of voters who strongly approve (25%).
The results also show that voters who are not affiliated with a political party are running away from the President who they handed the election to just one year ago. 52% of independent voters now strongly disapprove of the President’s job performance.
For the second straight days, the update shows the highest level of Strong Disapproval yet recorded for this President. That negative rating had never topped 42% before yesterday. However, it has risen dramatically since the Senate found 60 votes to move forward with the proposed health care reform legislation. Most voters (55%) oppose the health care legislation and senior citizens are even more likely than younger voters to dislike the plan.
In total, 44% of voters at least somewhat approve of Obama’s performance, while 56% disapprove.

That approval rating is nothing to what it will be this time next year. My guess is somewhere in the high 20’s to 30%. It should be very interesting to see what rationale democrats like Patrick Murphy use as their reasons for being reelected. I smell a landslide.
