YOU LIE!
Free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortions, “death panels” and the circumstances surrounding the two insurance horror stories he told weren’t the only things Barack Obama lied about during his prime time address to a joint session of Congress last week.
He also said, as he has said repeatedly since the beginning of his push for government run health care, that the entire scheme would be paid for through magic savings in the Medicare system (that no one has been able to identify or bring to fruition over the past 40 years). Somehow the magic fairy dust unicorns would swoop into the Medicare system, tighten up the operation, and crap down billions of dollars as they flew away.
In 2007, however, Barack Obama was a little more realistic. That Obama, the one before the media got all creamy pantsed, figured his claims, facts and figures were going to be checked out by someone somewhere and they had better make sense.
2007 Obama knew that his “savings” scheme was “just a theory” and “initially you may need another $90-$100 a year.” This is why, he explains, he has “pushed people on the idea of paying higher taxes in order to implement the system.”
