The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) study of the Pelosi health care bill rushed by Democrats through the House of Representatives near midnight on a Saturday will raise health care costs by $289 billion over 10 years.
Failed President Barack Obama and other Democrats have vowed that the government’s takeover of the country’s health care system would work to lower costs.
The CMS report is a blow to the White House and House Democrats who have vowed that healthcare reform would curb the growth of healthcare spending.

[T]he CMS analysis clearly states that the House bill falls short in attaining a key goal of the Democrats’ effort to reform the nation’s healthcare system: “With the exception of the proposed reduction in Medicare… the provisions of H.R. 3962 would not have a significant impact on future healthcare cost growth rates.”
Mitch McConnell, the Republican Senate leader, promises that Republicans will not allow the disasterous bill to be rushed through the Senate like it was jammed through the House of Representatives.
“There will be a lot of amendments over a lot of weeks. I mean, the Senate is not the House. You saw in the House three votes and it was over in one day,” McConnell said.
[...]“We know it’s been in Harry Reid’s office for six weeks and the other 99 senators have not seen it,” McConnell said of the Senate healthcare bill, referring to the Senate majority leader. “I think we ought to at least have as much time for the other 99 senators and all of the American people to take a look at this bill as Majority Leader Reid has had.”
“The only way to guarantee that for sure would be to delay the process to allow everyone to fully understand what’s in the bill,” McConnell said.
