Always the bearer of great news, Senate leader Harry Reid drops a dime on some kind of agreement between Barack Obama and John McCain to move forward on immigration reform early in the next Congress.

Q: With more Democrats in the Senate and the House and a Democrat in the White House, how do you see congressional efforts playing out on such issues as health care and immigration?
A: On immigration, there’s been an agreement between (President-elect Barack) Obama and (Arizona Republican Sen. John) McCain to move forward on that. … We’ll do that. We have to get this economy stuff figured out first, so I think we’ll have a shot at doing something on health care in the next Congress for sure.
Q: Will there be as much of a fight on immigration as last time?
A: We’ve got McCain and we’ve got a few others. I don’t expect much of a fight at all.
Please, let us not ever again speak of he for whom we cast our Republican votes earlier this month. If we do not say it, maybe over time we will just remember having cast a ballot for Sarah Palin and forget how we had to swallow the bitter pill of pulling the McAmnesty lever to do so. This is the crap we pushed out of our heads to have any chance at preventing an Obama presidency.
On the bright side, tax hikes are on hold, a pro-war and pro-surge hawk is going to be Secretary of Defense, and the new Secretary of State (if she can get around that pesky Constitution) champions “obliterating” Iran if they get out of line.

Amnesty begets illegals which begets amnesty which begets illegals which begets amnesty.
Si Senor. Say goodbye to Eurocentric America, which ironically is the very thing which attracts third worlders to America in the first place.
With Latin American attitudes and politics and habits firmly ensconsced into the fabric of US government, it won’t be long until the Norman Rockwell type memories are just that… memories.
