KYW-AM General Manager David Yadgaroff says the station won’t run a Democrat sponsored ad in which a voice actor impersonates President Bush thanking Congressional Republicans for supporting a “Big Oil Agenda.”
Yadgaroff cites the actor’s spot-on impersonation as his reason for rejecting the ad. He feels the all-news format and accurate impersonation might confuse listeners into thinking the actual President was the speaker.
Personally, I feel it might create confusion to thank Republicans for backing a “Big Oil Agenda” when the reason energy prices are so high is that the Democrats won’t let us go get our own oil, forcing us to depend on countries that hate us for a commodity that’s integral to our economy. But that’s just me.
Democrats are running the misleading ad in 13 Congressional districts with Republican incumbents across the country.
