The Calkins papers (Bucks County Courier Times, Burlington County Times, Intelligencer) are tools of the Democratic party. They have been for as long as I can remember. They carry water for the Democrats, and attack Republicans for doing things for which they’d previously praised Democrats. We don’t have conservative media in Bucks County.
Another thing we don’t have here in Bucks County is our own Congressional district. Part of Philadelphia County and Montgomery County got tacked on somehow, so disasters like the Patrick Murphy reign of terror happen. Had the election been in Bucks County alone, we’d still have Mike Fitzpatrick in Congress instead of the lightweight tool currently occupying his seat. Fitzpatrick won Bucks County by 1,000 votes.
The Calkins papers know that Murphy’s hold on the 8th Congressional District is tenuous at best and that Tom Manion is a strong and compelling challenger. So they will, between now and November, carry Murphy’s water and do all they can to ensure he remains installed.
That water carrying includes this editorial attack on Tom Manion’s filmed tribute to his son Letters from Travis, which basically repeats the Democrat Party talking points detailed in this report from sister paper the Bucks County Courier Times two days earlier that I first reported on in a post entitled, “Bucks County Dems Attack Dad for Honoring Fallen Hero Son.”
PAWatercooler.com details the angry response to the anti-Manion Intelligencer editorial.
