Gibbs: Jennings Praising NAMBLA Figure Is A Riot

Doughboy White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs thinks the recent revelation that Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings praised North American Man Boy Love Association figure Harry Hay in a 1997 speech is a laugh riot.

Hay was a gay rights activist who often spoke out in support of NAMBLA.  A huge proponent of teen-aged boys having sex with much older men, he protested NAMBLA’s exclusion from gay rights parades even carrying a “NAMBLA Walks With Me” sign in a Los Angeles pride parade.

In Hay’s own words, “from a talk at a New York University forum sponsored by a campus gay group in 1983,″ as reprinted by American Spectator.

[I]f the parents and friends of gays are truly friends of gays, they would know from their gay kids that the relationship with an older man is precisely what thirteen-, fourteen-, and fifteen-year-old kids need more than anything else in the world.

In an October 25, 1997 speech that Jennings gave to the Mid-Atlantic conference of his group Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), Jennings had high praise for Harry Hay, calling him an inspiration.

One of the people that’s always inspired me is Harry Hay, who started the first ongoing gay rights groups in America.

Radio reporter Lester Kinsolving asked Gibbs about the report.

Apparently, the “most transparent administration ever” doesn’t feel it has to answer to concerns raised when high ranking administration officials tasked with keeping schools safe call proponents of Man-Boy love “inspirational.”
