A report by Politico this morning that indicates failed President Barack Obama will not demand a “public option” government-run health care scheme from Congress has the far left in full melt down.
Obama is considering detailing his health-care demands in a major speech as soon as next week, when Congress returns from the August recess. And although House leaders have said their members will demand the inclusion of a public insurance option, Obama has no plans to insist on it himself, the officials said.
And, in case you were wondering, the total drubbing Obama and the Democrats have been taking all summer was a very useful “lowering of expectations” method to the tone deaf White House.
Top officials privately concede the past six weeks have taken their toll on Obama’s popularity. But the officials also see the new diminished expectations as an opportunity to prove their critics wrong by signing a health care law, showing progress in Afghanistan, and using this month’s anniversary of the fall of Lehman Brothers to push for a crackdown on Wall Street.
The left shouldn’t fret. The Great Obama Reboot of September 2009 is all word games orchestrated by Obama’s brain; astroturf king David Axelrod. There’s more than just the government option in the health care bills being considered by the House and Senate that allows for government control of both the health care industry and the behavior of Americans.
Still, the fact that your rights are also taken away on every other page of the monstrous 1000+ page legislation will do nothing to appease the “socialism or nothing” left, and that makes for good times and entertaining reading. They are unashamed at plastering their unadulterated heartache on every corner of left-wing hate sites.
I’m begining (sic) to think that Obama is completely spineless, politically speaking. I used to think that he was a (sic) politically Machiavellian, but looking at the way that he has so badly bungled Health Care Reform and failed to offer the leadership, arm twisting and vision required to pass this important issue I now have great doubts. He abdicated leadership on the issue to the ‘gang of six’ and started to offer every concession under the sun before the debate even got under way.

The first stage of grief is denial, and there’s plenty of that to go around, too. Apparently, solidly left-wing Politico is attempting to discourage lefties by reporting the words of solidly left-wing David Axelrod.
They want to kill health-care reform dead. One way they do this is by putting out these discouraging stories and getting progressives to sink their knives into Obama — yanking their support from something he is certainly trying to do. They are LYING. Don’t you get it?
