Bucks Right, as part of it’s commitment and dedication to involvement in local politics, is ready to make an early endorsement in the race to be Mayor of Doylestown. The candidates are pictured below.

Vote for Jennifer Walton, 30-year old Republican, musician and Realtor. In case it wasn’t obvious, she’s the one on the steps.
To help keep readers informed about the details of the race, Bucks Right would like to highlight an important plank in Walton’s platform.

In all seriousness, though, Walton’s looks shouldn’t be the focus of this race. It sounds like she’s a real go-getter with the right attitude and an honest love for the community she wants to represent.
Like many people in Doylestown, Walton is well-educated (she has a degree in mathematics from Ursinus College and has taken graduate classes at Princeton University), professional (she became a licensed Realtor at age 18) and interested in the arts (she writes songs, short stories and poetry).
Walton thinks her image and experiences would help her as mayor.
“Doylestown is known for its arts and its culture,” she said. “Participating in it brings me closer to that part of our community.”
[...]
Though she thinks of herself as a right-leaning moderate, she said, “I’m definitely fiscally conservative. And I believe socially, you have to take responsibility for yourself.
And, let’s be honest, even if she turned out to be a total train wreck, she couldn’t screw very much up. On the flip side, if she does really well it may be a great stepping stone to get a young Republican a little experience for when she seeks higher office.
The mayor oversees the police department. Otherwise, the mayor is a figurehead for the borough, who represents the borough at ribbon-cuttings and other events.

I read this article in the Courier as well. Interseting side note, her Chairwoman is Ryan Manion, (Tom Manion’s daughter) who I am hearing quiet whispers that she may be running for Congress?? Has anyone heard anything about this? Are women in their 20’s taking over the GOP! All kidding aside, I think it is great that there are new people stepping up to the plate.
