Dimwitted bumpkin Sheriff Clarence Dupnik has decided who is responsible for Saturday’s “Tragedy in Tucson” that left 20 dead and wounded and, although he has someone named Jared Loughner in custody, he has pointed his craggy finger of blame at one of the most powerful men in the media: Rush Limbaugh.
Smart move, Sheriff Dumbprick. You haven’t lived until you falsely accuse a man with a loud, golden microphone and 20 million fans who listen to every word he speaks into it of a mass murder he didn’t commit.
On Saturday, before any investigation had been undertaken, Democrat Sheriff Dumbprick started jawing about “vitriol” being to blame for the shooting. When pressed about making such a comment without any actual evidence that showed there was any political motive behind the crime or that the shooter had ever seen any of the so-called “vitriolic” materials before committing the crime, Dumbprick basically said he didn’t need any evidence because 50 years in law enforcement had given him great gut instincts.
After Limbaugh labeled Dumbprick a “fool” for jumping to the convenient conclusion that his own political adversaries were behind the shooting, Dumbprick took the bait and responded.
“The kind of rhetoric that flows from people like Rush Limbaugh, in my judgment he is irresponsible, uses partial information, sometimes wrong information,” Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said today. “[Limbaugh] attacks people, angers them against government, angers them against elected officials and that kind of behavior in my opinion is not without consequences.”
So complaining about taxes and spending as part of the media is enough to incite a shooting, but accusing people who are thousands of miles away of remote murder is responsible law enforcement behavior.
As far as I can tell, Rush’s job is to entertain and inform his audience. Sheriff Dumbprick’s job is to keep the people of Pima County safe. As of this morning, as they’re still cleaning up blood in front of the Tucson Safeway, who would you say has the better job performance.
Dumbprick, sporting the kind of nose you usually don’t see unless you’re outside the church or community center as the meetings let out, hasn’t explained why a guy as seemingly unstable and dangerous as Loughner was allowed to move freely within Pima County unobserved. Dumbprick has also not explained why there was no law enforcement keeping the peace outside the Safeway on Saturday morning.
