September 30, 2008Clearly doing her best to avoid any appearance of impropriety or bias while moderating Thursday night’s Vice Presidential debate between Senator Joe Biden and Governor Sarah Palin, Gwen Ifill is set to release a laudatory Obama-focused book entitled “The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama” on the next President’s Inauguration Day: January 20, 2009.
Drawing on interviews with power brokers like Senator Obama, former Secretary of State Colin Powell, Vernon Jordan, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, and many others, as well as her own razor-sharp observations and analysis of such issues as generational conflict and the “black enough” conundrum, Ifill shows why this is a pivotal moment in American history.
Why on earth do conservatives keep insisting that the media is wildly biased in favor of Obama? OF COURSE Ifill is going to be equally hard on Biden and Palin during the debate, even if it risks the result of this “pivotal moment in American history,” just to be seen as fair. After all, the media has been nothing if not fair, especially toward Governor Palin. There’s no reason to believe the debate would be conducted in a biased way.
Right.
Besides any liberal bias toward the Obama campaign implicit in publishing a book with his name in the title, Ifill clearly has financial reasons to be pulling for an Obama win and should recuse herself from moderating Thursday’s debate.
Public Service Announcement: Ifill is not “disabled” (I see some people arriving here searching that on Google). She broke her ankle last week falling down the stairs, and that’s why she’s tooling around St. Louis in a wheelchair.
The video below is your impartial debate moderator reacting with contempt and disgust to Governor Palin’s Convention speech.

Here are the web articles and videos referenced by Rush Limbaugh on his September 30, 2008 Show.
- Instapundit (initially misidentified as Little Green Footballs) gets an email verifying the left-wing bias in the media.
- Supposedly grassroots but actually Hollywood produced video of indoctrinated little kids singing praise to Barack Obama.
- Wizbang Blog
- Rasmussen poll on the Congressional rescue plan.
- Politico incorrectly reports House Republicans Mocked by Rush
- Rush Limbaugh Show Hour One Transcript, showing the Politico’s inaccurate reporting.
How scary is this video of a bunch of little kids with enraptured looks on their faces singing about the Obamessiah as if they were participating in a Sunday School pageant?

Politico did a little research and found that a smear against Sarah Palin, that she somehow belongs to a fringe religion because they’ve seen video of a priest visiting her church and offering her a blessing against witchcraft, “has been blown out of proportion by ignorance and intolerance.”

I was not shocked to see that Patrick Murphy, our accidentally elected Representative in Congress, accidentally stumbled upon doing the right thing and voted for the financial rescue package. After all, Li’l Pat always does what his puppet master Nancy Pelosi tells him to do. Leadership and free thought are not in his DNA.
I was also not shocked to read his unsurprisingly shallow assessment of the situation afterward.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi throws away a bipartisan agreement and fails to lead, throwing our credit markets into a tailspin.
Dow swings wildly.
Was it nothing more than a maneuver to combat Pelosi’s partisan speech directly prior to the vote?

Obama plays unhelpful blame game.

Obama’s community organizer colleagues in the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) have organized us right into the current financial crisis by using frivolous lawsuits and strong-arm tactics to force lenders into making sub-prime loans and Fannie Mae to buy up the bad loans.
And, in return for ACORN’s hard work toward crushing our economy by forcing you to support those living beyond their means, the Obama campaign has paid the radical organization nearly a million dollars and Congressional Democrats attempted to write an ACORN slush fund into the financial bailout legislation.

Information posted on Barack Obama’s own site indicate that the Presidential candidate was a Kenyan citizen until 1982.
The shocking declaration, quoted from FactCheck.org, appears on the page featuring a document the Obama campaign purports to be his Certificate of Live Birth.

In what was perhaps the most memorable moment of the first Presidential debate between John McCain and Barack Obama, Obama felt the need to chime in like a child after McCain pointed out a bracelet given to him by the family of a slain American soldier.
“I’ve got a bracelet, too,” Obama whined. After a few uncomfortable moments staring down at the bracelet, Obama was able to “remember” the soldier’s name: Ryan Jopek.
What Obama didn’t mention, however, is that the family of Ryan Jopek had asked Obama in writing to stop wearing the bracelet on the campaign trail several months before the debate. They are mortified that their gesture is being used as a political prop by the shameless politician.
