Biden Bust

Hey, that’s not the way the coronation was supposed to work! In the first poll conducted completely after Barack Obama named Joe Biden as his running mate, the Obamessiah went from a 7-point lead over John McCain to a dead heat.  The CNN poll finds the candidates tied at 47%.

Despite the week of hoopla and anticipation, Joe Biden has erased 4% of Obama’s support in two days.  Now that’s “Joementum.”  It seems like every word out of Biden’s mouth costs Obama support.  Is it possible that Biden is a 35-year Republican plant?

And the difference appears to be the PUMA (Party Unity My Ass) group of disgruntled Hillary Clinton supporters.

“This looks like a step backward for Obama, who had a 51 to 44 percent advantage last month,” said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. “Even last week, just before his choice of Joe Biden as his running mate became known, most polls tended to show Obama with a single-digit advantage over McCain.”

So what’s the difference now?

It may be supporters of Hillary Clinton, who still would prefer the New York senator and former first lady as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee.

Sixty-six percent of Clinton supporters — registered Democrats who want Clinton as the nominee — are now backing Obama. That’s down from 75 percent in the end of June. Twenty-seven percent of them now say they’ll support McCain, up from 16 percent in late June.

“The number of Clinton Democrats who say they would vote for McCain has gone up 11 points since June, enough to account for most, although not all, of the support McCain has gained in that time,” Holland said.

The party of brilliance managed to alienate 27% of 18-million Clinton voters to the point where they’re going to vote for the Republican.

    You crack me up.

Been sending this website link to as many people as I can find, and am hoping it helps boost traffic.

McCain can hopefully find a way to ‘invite’ disaffected Hillary supporters to support him, without compromising his message.

I noticed McCain had put out an Internet ad over the weekend in which he criticized the Dem establishment for how disrespectfully they handled Hillary. It was sort of a generalized criticism, and not too hard hitting.

McCain might want to try the direct approach with an ad in which he directly asks Hillary people to join his campaign.

I forget who said it, but some people respond better to a candidate when he or she directly asks for their vote.
