Arab Media Reports Mubarak Fell Into Coma Shortly After Speech

Al Arabiya News Channel reports that former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak fell into a coma shortly after the giving the speech in which he handed control of Egypt over to the country’s military.

Despite the News Channel’s citation of “well-informed sources,” I’m not sure I buy it.  However, when you couple it with Bill O’Reilly’s Super Bowl Sunday question to failed President Barack Obama about how Mubarak knows where all of America’s skeletons are buried, it does bring to mind a whole bunch of interesting spy stuff that could have gone on.

Rumors for the past year or so have tagged Mubarak with cancer of everything from the esophagus to the pancreas and stomach.

The same sources said that Mubarak was currently receiving medical treatment but that no decision had yet been made on whether to transfer the 82-year-old former head-of-state to a hospital.

Rumors had circulated earlier that Mubarak had fainted twice while recording his final speech, which was broadcast on state television on Thursday evening.
