Three weeks after the Supreme Court affirmed your unalienable individual right to keep and bear arms, Moms Against Guns and Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter have unveiled billboards urging voters to elect politicians who oppose this right.
The group didn’t even need to spend their money to rent the 30 Philadelphia billboards. The space was donated by Clear Channel Outdoor and Interstate Outdoor Advertising.
Thirty billboards with a red background and large letters saying, “Stop illegal guns, sign up today,” are going up across the city. It’s part of a campaign by Moms Against Guns to elect state lawmakers committed to reasonable gun restrictions.
The first billboard was unveiled Thursday at 30th St. and Allegheny Avenue, in the Strawberry Mansion section of the city.
The group’s founder, Lynne Honickman, says the public has a role in this fight:
“They have the power of the vote, and they’ve got to use it to put people in that want sensible gun laws.”
Mayor Michael Nutter, who took part in the billboard unveiling, agrees:
“We’re demonstrating through a message, a very clear message, Moms Against Guns, that increasingly citizens are concerned about public safety and violence, illegal weapons.”
According to Wikipedia, Clear Channel owns the following radio stations in Pennsylvania. Personally, I’d think twice about listening to radio stations owned by a company who donates services to those who seek to limit my Constitutional rights.
