ACORN Suspends Program, Plans Sham Audit

Note To Past-Tense Media: We don’t need you any more.

obamaacornIn response to at least 4 videos showing ACORN officials advising a pair of undercover journalists on how to set up a prostitution ring using under-aged illegal immigrants as sex slaves and then hide the proceeds from the IRS, ACORN’s CEO Bertha Lewis says the organization is not accepting new clients and is setting up an investigation.

Lewis initially said the sting operation reflected an isolated incident.  When further tapes surfaced, she claimed the videos were doctored and threatened to sue FOX News for airing them. This seems like a tacit admission of guilt.

I’m sure any investigation initiated by ACORN will have all the integrity we’ve seen in ACORN’s voter registration and housing advisory units.

The actions were taken, she said, “as a result of indefensible action of a handful of our employees.”

Earlier, the US Census Bureau cut all ties with the organization, the US Senate voted to cut off funding for ACORN’s housing unit, New York City cut off all funding to ACORN, and the NY Attorney General launched an investigation into the group.

During his campaign for President, Barack Obama told ACORN they would have a seat at the table before his inauguration helping him to set the agenda.

Barack Obama organized for ACORN, trained ACORN organizers, and acted as ACORN’s lawyer as they successfully intimidated banks into giving loans to unqualified borrowers (ACORN vs. Edgar), a policy decision came to fruition with our current economic mess. The 2008 Obama campaign laundered $800,000 through an ACORN front group directly into the corrupt organization’s coffers.

Scrutiny of ACORN came as the result of 25-year-old film journalist James O’Keefe and 20-year-old aspiring journalist college student Hannah Giles.  The Past-Tense Media has been nearly silent on the story except to excuse the organization and distance Barack Obama from it.

H/T to AoSHQ Breaking: ACORN Suspends Programs, Orders Audit, where I also believe the term “Past-Tense Media” was debuted.
