The UConn Republicans have compiled pictures of 47 world leaders meeting the Emperor of Japan. Interestingly, only one of them bows.
The others shake hands, which I’m sure the White House will say shows an offensive lack of respect on their part. The One knows what he’s doing, of course. All those other leaders are just yokels.
As it turns out, Obama’s 45-degree bow is so embarrassing that at least one Japanese news outlet has declined to run it out of shame.
Kyodo News is running his appropriate and reciprocated nod and shake with the Empress, certainly to show the president as dignified, and not in the form of a first year English teacher trying to impress with Karate Kid-level knowledge of Japanese customs.
The bow as he performed did not just display weakness in Red State terms, but evoked weakness in Japanese terms….The last thing the Japanese want or need is a weak looking American president and, again, in all ways, he unintentionally played that part.

“The Leader of the Free World”…
With the bow the king, they first played it off as a “trip”; when that didn’t work they said it was a tall man shaking hands with a shorter man. What are they going to say now, “He just noticed a smudge on his shoe and was getting a closer look at it”???
I just hope there is an America when the 2012 elections come around.
